Organization

Collections

Collections are blender's main tool to organize a scene. They can be separated into view layers for compositing and switching between setups.

Move Collection - Select objects in outliner, press M

Organization Hotkeys

Move Collection Select objects in outliner > M
Parent Objects Ctrl + P (Last object is parent)

Modifiers

Subdivision Modifier - Ctrl + 2
Allows you to subdivide an object without actually subdividing geometry

Mirror Modifier
Enable Clipping - Treats mirrored and regular side as a single object.
Can mirror over origin or another object.


Texture Editing

UV Editing -> Shader Editor (Node System)


Grease Pencil

Grease pencil exists as an object. Draw within draw mode and points along strokes can be modified in edit mode.


Modeling

Origins determine an object's center, where it is transformed and mirrored from.

Metaballs


Environment

HDRI
Add HDRI in world tab on right, by adding environment texture to color tab

Atmospherics
In world tab, Volume drop down, principled volume
OR
Create an object (typically a box) - Remove the surface material, and add a Volume Scatter material to the volume only
